I've done some rough production sketches and estimates on how much it would cost me to produce a few of the military lolita outfit. I've come up with a price in my head- and now I'd like to know how much you'd be willing to pay for it. (Please keep in mind that I have to eat and pay tuition fees!) It's a rather long stretch, I know. Sane people generally start off with smaller pieces, but I'd really like to see where this goes.

Outfit includes:
- Plain brown blouse
- Fully lined, tailored jacket with functioning pockets and leather belts and metal motiffs and synthetic leather trim/accents
- Fully lined, tailored skirt with box pleats

And I'm not sure about the hat... I'm looking at the moment to get it outsourced, as I don't think I'm up to making hats. All in all, the entire garment would take me about three days of solid work.

There was alot of interest in commissioning the design, but I'm not sure if I should actually go ahead with this. I'm thinking that I ought to make a set, grab a dear photographer friend and see how it turns out. But in the mean time, throw me a quote and tell me roughly how much you're willing to fork out.

Comments are all screened. ^_^

£80-£100? Though i'm sure it's be worth much more than that. That's without the hat too. I'd pay probably £20 more for a hat.

(not sure what this is in AUS or US $ sorry)

I'd probably spend about $400 on it or perhaps a bit more. I'd probably want to have the design reflect more of the authentic military bits because I don't care if people get exploding heads over a black woman dressed as a Nazi.

well i can't afford to buy anything, but i can still tell you what i think you should charge :P
hmm three days work....if you dont charge around $500 for the outift you'd be crazy, personally. theres so much work in it. i always feel that its best to cover your costs well, because if you sell it for too cheap now, people will be unwilling to pay more later on.

btw, i can make hats, but making something like that would be another day of work (or another $150) that you'd have to add ontop per outfit.

Please say you're going to do these in black? I'm not sure, because it's a full outfit at least $200+ before shipping, but probably closer to $250-3 I think... It's hard to know without seeing everything first. I'd die for one of them in black, if my bank account will allow... u.u law school's painful expensive.

Hey again~ ^^

I'm sorry, I love BJDs with all my heart, but I know for a fact I could never do dollfie clothes justice. I'm still practicing... And I'd want a doll of my own to make sure I get measurements etc correct.

I'll make sure I let you know when I've brushed up on my doll clothing! It won't be for a few months though, exams and all. :(
